We had a 300 Utility with NO power steering and a loader. Tough little tractor, but it steered HARD. We never had spindle or tie rod trouble, but the gearbox was a constant source of irritation. The steering gearbox on the ones without power steering is subect to coming loose from its mount, leaking grease from every seal, and breaking parts in extreme cases. Get a good manual, gather your tools, and practice some deep breathing exercises before you begin.....
