The tractor did have new spark plug wires on it, but I and most everybody else have had points fail because of a small drop of water between them. I don't know how these points survived, there can't have been enough engine blow by coming through the shaft to keep them dry. I assume the fact that it was hot and running when it submerged helped the points keep breaking the circuit. Maybe they were sparking and making a little steam.

I was really very surprised that it was hitting on all four as we got out of the water, too. That's why I think the missing was from a cold engine rather than wet ignition parts.
