What you have is a McCormick W-4. From early in International Harvester Company's business they seperated the tractors into Farmall, McCormick-Deering, and International. Farmall basically was any "row crop" tractor and was built to "carry or suspend" the impliment between the front and rear wheels. McCormick-Deering built tractors that are known as "standards." Standards were designed to "push or pull" their impliment. International was basically a sub-set of both Farmall and McCormick-Deering. International was the "industrial" line. In 1948 or so the last "Deering" family member passed and the name was stopped being used. In 1954 IHC combined the International and McCormick into one line the "International" line. I may be off on the dates but should be pretty close.
