I'd think 2.5gpm will do. I don't know how much larger the live pump is on a SH than my 240U, but my 3 point will not operate when the engine is idled down due to the CharLynn steering using the flow. I do not lose steering, but the 3 point will not operate below about 1/3 throttle. My loader has a separate pump in front off the crankshaft. I would not use a PTO pump as it will not be live. From the looks of the plumbing on mine, the loader at one time used the live pump and tractor valves, but my guess is when the PS and pfdv was added, they also added the front pump and a set of valves mounted on the loader. Your SH may have a bigger pump than the 240, but it better be a lot bigger if it's to work both, especially when idled down a little.
