Well, they might not have plugged the fridge into the power supply. Old machine not run for ages… People have started electrical fires that way. Before I plug anything like that into a power supply I always have a good look inside to find:
1). Broken / Damaged Wires
2). Obviously Burnt-out Components
3). Rodent Nests
4). Miscellaneous Junk
Plug it in, get a dead short and it will probably just blow a fuse. Get some electrical leakage and heat + rodent nest = fire. All very entertaining if you dislike the vendor, otherwise not entertaining at all.
