If you drag it home, disconnect the fuel lines at the injectors so that it gets primed while you crank. Give it at least half throttle. Check the glow plugs. Reattach everything and sit on the glow plug button for two minutes. Hit the starter button. It should start if the air intake is xlear. If not, give it a whiff of ether after the glow plugs are cool.
I wouldn't mess around with new fuel. I have started Diesels after 15 years of neglect. .
