This string of comments regarding generators and regulators makes me feel better. You guys helped me get my old H back to the orginal 6 volt positive system but it took the purchase of 2 generators and 2 regulators to get it going. All of the parts were purchased from an Case/IH dealer but they were made in Mexico. Certainly cheap looking stuff. The first generator was bad out of the box. The couldn't explain but replaced. The 1st regulator would not work but they would not replace since it had been installed. I had to purchase another and wired it exactly as the first and got it going. I know I did nothing different. Obviously the first regulator was just bad. This week I went with the Hitachi alternator with your help and am pleased with the results. Thanks for the help!
