Here is a close up of the tap end. Looks like there is a short lead in on this one. I am by no means a machinist, but have worked with a few. Bottom taps that I have used (I don't own any) had zero lead in. I was taught to tap the blind hole with a regular tap, then finish off with the bottom tap. Like I said, I am no expert or machinist.
