I don"t know where to get them either. I don"t think anyone is making parts like that for those tractors anymore--too bad.
On the tractors I bought over the years, some of the support rods were removed and discarded by previous owners. I noticed in the parts manuals that some tractors came with one and some came with two. My WD-9"s & Super WD-9 look like they would have only had one. Maybe 600"s & 650"s were the same.
My tractors are workers, so when I assemble one I like to install both support rods. I can"t usually find the originals either, so I buy a 3 foot piece of plated 7/16 NC threaded rod. I bend both ends to the correct angle and install it on the tractor. If done carefully, it looks good and works well--the 3 foot rod is the perfect length. Of course it does not look original but once the hood is on, you can"t see it. I do prefer my tractors to be completely original, but sometimes this is the best I can do.
