Thanks for the reply"s I figured it was maybe a school or a mechanic would make more sense...I know tractor runs great very quiet with no smoke or funny noises....it is a distillate model has 2 tanks and also the flapper on the manifold to open close it for cold start.....tractor does have live hydraulics which is odd for the year ( i think ) and looks factory plumbed....yes the PPMH is definantly not factory with it being dented....the # 1 however is factory....for all I know could have been the farmers kids out there with the hammer and stamps pounding away, maybe thinking it would be alot easier to find if pops ever sold it one day....always a possibility...I had many tractors in the past and never saw anything stamped on a tag before...if i find anything out i will try and post it....thanks again

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
