A relative has an old IH 450 with Delco alternator conversion. He asked me to help repair a no charge situation.
The alternator belt was worn out , near broken and very loose. The fan belt was good and tight enough, but from being parked in wet cattle barns, the adjustable water pump pulley was incredibly rusty and stuck. Not wanting to tackle that rusted pulley, I got a roll of adjustable length "NuTlink" belting that we use on our grain cleaner. Simply slide it over the pulleys, find the correct number of links and connect the ends. Has been on there for two years daily use, charges good and still shows no wear. :-) Avalible at most bearings and drives places.
