You can make or have made something like the original. One way is take the end of a one inch bolt with a nut. leave threads about 1/2 inch above nut, slide 1-1/8 long 1 inch pipe with threads on end away from nut. Weld or braze bolt to pipe down inside good enough to not leak. Cut lower end to length and weld a 1/2 inch bolt with threads down to that. Not room in there for a big nut if one inch all thread was used. Cut 1-1/2 inch pipe on a angle to fit inside of the housing. Use a big washer on pipe and use the 1/2 threads to tighten down. Removed one that they just stuck a pipe down through housing with a pluged collar on the end and stacked washers between housing and collar. Didn't sit straight though.
