I would NEVER bring a muffler thru the hood! The underslung exhaust on my Dyna-hoe loader/backhoe made me sick on foggy days so I put an elbow and a u under the frame of the tractor and brought the exhaust up on the outside of the frame. Solved that problem and no hole in the hood. On a side note I read in a book(The New Generation)(I think that was the name of the book about the development of John Deere 10 seiers tractors that came out in the early '60's) one of the designers wanted nothing coming thru the hood. That would have been the ultimate improvement on already great tractor! Armand
