Zach I will try to get it right but things get confusing on the early tractors. Main thing to remember is the notched counter shaft was used to serial 45613 unless tractor was equiped with low low gears then to 72773. Splined counter shaft was used after those serial numbers. Two types were used for the notched shaft and depending when the PTO attachment was installed 501 to 45613 could have the last type for the notched shaft or early type. But 501 to 9535 used a different PTO attachment than 9536 to 45613 did when they first came out. Two types were used for the splined countershaft tractors. Flat housing type 45614 to 117999 and the last type 118000 up. Everything is not black and white when it comes to the early PTO units though. IH made several changes in the parts for them along with several upgraded parts that didn't look the same as original ones. Eventually IH quit making parts for the early type and the latest type was used for replacements along with whatever parts were needed to install unit.
