A 154 Cub in the neighborhood has its original decals and the name on the side of the hood is LO-BOY in all caps. Do you know what series of LO-BOY you have? I have one that is not a 154 that I think is a 184. Mine has the yellow & white paint scheme and is equipped with a rear one point lift and it has the tie rods one up, one down. It is the best thing that I have ever mowed with but it lacks power. Even so, I would not want to part with it. If you are going to use yours to mow with check the deck for level in the front to back direction. At the desired mowing height you will want the deck to be out of level with the front or leading edge about a half bubble LOWER on a carpenters level. This will greatly reduce the load on the engine as the back portion of the cutting area will clear the grass cut by the leading edge.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
