I realized that the jackstands were under the front of the wishbone. Put them under the subframe for the loader/backhoe and VOILA! the whole thing separated enough to drop the pan out. #1 piston seized in cylinder seems to be the culprit. Two weeks of flooding with every chemical or combination thereof mentioned on this forum and banging with a hammer underneath wouldn't budge it. Even cussing at it didn't help. Decided to pull the head as it actually doesn't look to be that bad a job...even working in the dirt under a tarp stretched between two trees. My guess is that the cylinder walls will need attention anyway. Off to the 'Ring and Bearing Store'. Thanks Jim.
