They also used the long frame on the gasoline engine when they made the change and it would be the C-291. If a TA is slow to respond when shifting ahead to direct drive it is worn high clutch pack or low volume of oil due to leakage. Proper use of gauges will show which is problem. It should not free wheel when down shifting and take a hold with no slowing of tractor below the normal speed of low side. There are some double hydraulic clutch TA's out there that do have a neutral between speeds even when working normally. I doubt it would be in a 706 but it could have been put in . They usually attach a sticker to show it has that type. Hy-Capacity sold them some years ago.
