things to consider for diagnosing a IH hydraulic T.A. A female splined collar attached to the pressure plate engages a splined hollow shaft that provides "live" power to: M.C.V. pump & circuit, hitch pump & p.t.o. . A solid shaft splines to the clutch disc. The m.c.v. circuit (among other things) provides for t.a. control & lubrication. If the sprag is catching it should pull the tractor even without m.c.v. function. If sprag is bad the t.a. lock up clutch should pull a very light load but you have to have m.c.v. function & a working lock up clutch thank u4 your patience
