Stuart, My 966 is a factory Non-Turbo tractor. I usually pull in Lo-4 or 3, TA in Hi Direct(forward) on the straights, pull the TA into Lo (back) on the turns. My old girl runs about 2200 to 2300 RPMs @ High Idle, tops! I can't imagine an engine turning 2600 at all. My chisel is a very heavy, 13 shank, Graham-Hoeme, 3 bar style, 4x4 box beams, with double spring resets, the chisel points are standard, 2 in wide straight points w/ 2 or 3 mounting holes that you can find at most any Tillage Supply House. With 2 gauge wheels! We have rock-ledge in spots, You wouldn't run that fast in my fields and expect to keep that chisel plow together very long. You might be able to do that in spots, but about the time you get lax with it all, is when all h3ll breaks loose when you hang a ledge and crap starts to breaking , twisting, and going South! ? Stuart,,, @ 7 or 8 mph are you plowing or trying to build a new terrace??? LOL I had to ask. Does seam fast to me! Anyway hope this answers your ?s. Later, John A.
