I run an old B-275 on homemade biodiesel, as well as my fleet of Jettas and 300SD Benzes. Have been making it for 6 years, so far, no problems. I have not seen mold here in Maine, but there are storage additives that will prevent this, as it also shows up in petrodinodiesel in warm climates. Check some of the SVO Biodiesel blogs on line for more info.
I agree with the others that B25% is a good proportion where no softening of the old (pre-1995 non-viton rubber)hoses will occur, and it won't gel at low temps (-25F). As you use B50-B100%, old rubber may soften up, and it will clean the sludge out of your fuel system, and into your filters for a while. Commercial pump biodiesel is B20% or so.
As long as it's not cold and the B-100 has not turned to "margarine", my engines always start as well as with dinodiesel.
