All back hoes of that era were much the same. The #s define the digging depth 3140 being approx 19' ft depth. The older hoes had the Hyd valves on either side of operater, the later hoes had the valve bank under the operater. Not sure if that was when the change to 3141 series started. 3514 was built from 1969 thru 1972 Serial # started at 501 Thru 3769. If that # you found is right it is one of the oldest. Serial plate was like all IH Approx 2X3 fastened to the clutch housing
