What Jim says is correct, but I believe he grabbed the wrong jpg image as it shows a conversion to the engine driven pump.
For a regular ol' M with liftall, and using Jim's diagram. Connect the blue return line to the fill cap on the reservoir. Point it straight into the reservoir and come off with a T on the side for your vented filler cap. Connect the red line to any of the three outlets on the side of the tractor and simple plug the other two.
The hydraulic pump will run any time the clutch is out. The handle on the side basically operates a bypass and pulling the handle back closes a relief valve and causes the pump to generate pressure.
