I rebuilt my "M" engine a year ago and was amazed at the weight and awkwardness of the engine. I had a very nice engine stand and still had to modify the stand for it to be safe. The problem is in the height of the engine. When you try to "roll" the engine you will see it is very top heavy. To counter this I built "outriggers" for the front of the stand and it worked very well.
