If your's is unmarked, then which ever way all the water ports match up with the head and block. If they match both ways, then if I were doing it, I wouldn't worry about which side up. Copper coat and install.
The regular is a low rpm, low compression engine. pretty forgiving. Someone may correct me, but the reason for directional markings on head gaskets is non-symetrical water ports / oil ports / etc. Sent an engine out to be rebuilt, and it came back with one bank on the v-8 with the gaskter installed backwards. Over heated and warped the head because some of the water ports were blocked. Shop made it right, but it can happen.
