Is the casting nose where the Bendix goes broken? That is the only non-Delco-standard piece on the starter according to my rebuilder. If that is all you need a salvage yard can supply one cheaply. You just need to know if it is 3 hole or 2 hole. Your local rebuilder should be able to supply armature, field coils, brushes and holders, back plate, and what is left? Maybe you need to find a better rebuilder.
