Now with out hearing the engine myself we are playen the it could be game here DID you have the injection pump rebuilt by someone that is old and knows these pumps inside and out ?? as IF the cam bushing in the pump are the least bit worn the can will now run true and this will plum drive you goofy . The other thing that will cause a miss in these engines is a crack in the block and most times that crack in in the #2 or #3 cylinder between the two holes , not what ya want to hear. And Oh BTW you could have bought kits , OEM kits from Clyde Burkshire in Royal Center In.
