Ok I will just leave it attached. I tapped around on it for another hour yesterday and it will not go apart. There are 4 bolts behind it holding a cap behind it. Do they need to come off too? I just can't believe rust would hold this tight.
I was also told over the weekend it is really difficult to get the axle off the housing. Is that true? I know it hasn't been apart before. What is the best way to get them starting to separate? Is it ok to work a chisel or a screwdriver between them to get it started?
