Tell Ben to pull the sleeve up as far as possible without having to remove the piston and paint the backside with plain old glycerine from the drug store, usually found with the skin protector products. It is what the factory recommended in the old days, and works great, sticks better then anything I have tried and will not come out accidentally. Of course, he could just ignore it, as the head will be more then up to the task of keeping the sleeve in the bore. I know of one engine that you can pull out all the sleeves by hand! It still runs just fine.
