I see the eye is rolled. Your 'original' might not be as original as what came on the tractors 70 years ago. I could be wrong, but I doubt anyone was making better than OEM brake parts in the '50s, '60s or '70s.
How long is your aftermarket brake band (center to center of the eyes) ? What is the thickness of the band ? Do you guarentee that the three spot welds won't tear out and let the eye open up ?
