Bull gear can stay in but the bolt and heavy washer needs removed from the inside end of the axle before it will come out. Can be removed through the pto opening after removing the pto. If lucky the axle will just slide out of the bull gear splines when axle housing is removed with axle. If not lucky axle may need pushed out of the bull gear splines. Helper would make it easier to put back in the splines.
