00 Gauge Battery n Starter n Ground Cables
The ground to a heavy clean frame member using stainless hardware or even a 00 ground cable right at/on the starter versus any thin wimpy or rusty sheet metal
Biggest heaviest highest CCA rated battery that can possibly fit
Good starter switch
Tractor tuned to perfection (especially start timing) with light or multi viscosity oil and clutch depressed and any possible mechanical loads like hydraulics OFF while cranking
Hold your mouth to the right while cranking and I found it best to sort of milk them up over on compression one piston at a time versus just holding the starter down n letting her crank n grunt till the batterys is near dead.
