Well as far as OPENING IT UP . What is needed here is to remove the deck plate and removing the RANGE shift cover and also the cover on the left side of the range trans . Also having the special tool to help with removal is nice to hold the rev. shifter rod . But you can squeak by with a stiff bladed putty knife and a extra set of hands. Get yourself and I T a manual and do a little reading on range cover removal . You do not have to remove the whole deck plate just the smaller one in the center . Myself i always remove the side cover on the left side for two reasons (1) is that i can inspect the rev. shift fork and when ya go back together you know for sure that everything is linen up . IF the tractor is at the correct fluid level in the trans mission there is no need to drain the trans. The only amount of fluid that will come out of the side cover is about 1 gallon , so just place a nice large oild drain pan under the tractor below the cover and it is not a big deal. BUT if you run it over full your going to get drowned . Once you have the cover off you will see what is wrong and with a look at the parts list you will see what you need .
