Two possibles, Rust and chunks of deposit can flake off and be digested into a cylinder. These do not compress very well, and make bad noises, and often little damage. The other is a stuck valve that lost its pushrod. Again with gentile tapping and PB Blaster on the stem the valve can be freed. The pushrod can be put on easily if it is not bent. Just depress the valve by moving the rocker and slipping the rod into place. Jim
