Hi Kevin, 574 belongs to 54-74-84 series tractors. Most electrical problems on 74 series are caused by bad connections in the molex connectors. There is a molex connector under the battery box that feeds the front of the tractor and another under the seat by the fuel tank, this one feeds all the electrics on the rear. The other problems is grounds, there is only one ground on the rear and that is by the rear molex connector and connects to the deck mounting bolt. The other problem is check the wiring for shorts and fraying where it goes under the transmission cover between the dash and the rear molex connector. If your 574 still has a generator and VR, the VRs are always a problem on Diesels as once the battery is recharged from the start it takes very little current to keep it charge and the VR relay contacts appear to get corroded. Solution, replace with a Delco alternator.
