OK now that it is morning . First pull the timing cover off clutch housing and re install the timing pointer with the two cover bolts , next shut off the fuel , then remove the timing window on the pump . Get the timing marks lined up with the timing pointer on the flywheel. Then check and see if the lines on the pump line up. NOW IF you are in doubt as to if you are in fact on TDC then pull the valve cover and make sure that # 1 is indeed at TDC . Won't be the first time that someone has screwed up and got them out of time or i have even had and injection shop set one 180 with the lines lined up but the pump was 180 .
