The upper plow assembly connects to the lower moldboard assembly via two steel plates sandwiched together
The wrench is on one of two 5/8” bolts that connect the upper assembly to the sandwiched steel plates.
The two empty bolt holes on the bottom of the plates takes one ¾” bolt (front) and one 5/16” bolt (back)
The 5/8" bolts are pretty good sized, but it struck me that the lower bolts were a larger 3/4" bolt paired with a much smaller 5/16" bolt.
Could it be that the 5/16” is meant to sheerer if you hit a big rock, making the whole arm pivot on the ¾” bolt and flip the moldboard back?
I've heard of break-away hitches on pull behind plows.
I believe all the bolts on the plow were grade 2, I replaced them all with grade 8. If this 5/16" bolt is meant to sheerer I'll have to replace it with a grade 2.
