Ser# confusion on M

First off - Much thanks for all the help on my earlier oil pressure problem. Replaced the oil w/ staight 30w and the coil and she purrs along with the pressure steady at 50. Happy not to be rebuilding anything just yet.
Recent posts on serial # have got me confused on year of production. On mine, the clutch housing says #63349 which appears to be a 1943. The engine is stamped FBKM 6261. Is this a engine from an earlier model? Both the engine and clutch have a attached tag with "9 16 M" on it.
