Most had the serial number plate attached to the left seat mount. Early versions had the nameplate on the front of the platform floor, I believe. If you can't find the plate, there is a serial number stamped on a flat spot just above the magneto (or distributor), This number should match closely enough to determine the year if the block is original. It is identical to the tractor serial number on most A's and B's I have seen.
