You can safely use a 12 volt jump on a regular H that has the starter switch remotely mounted on the light bar but do it directly at the starter and DO NOT push the starter button. Use the jumper cables as your switch by connecting directly to starter with one cable and last cable to frame of tractor to energize starter. This will in no way apply voltage to the six volt system on the tractor. NOW, on the super H with starter switch on the starter, if you hook 12 volts to that you are impressing that voltage onto the six volt battery. Some guys do this but it is definently not good and I would never do it that way.
