It depends upon which hydraulic system (and attachments) you have. There are two basic systems on these tractors. The very latest ones, including the SMTA models, have live hydraulics from a pump mounted behind the distributor on the right side of the engine. If you have this pump, you can easily set it up for two-way (and live) pressure. Just get the plumbing right and use a two-way cylinder. If you don't have this type of pump, you have the "Lift-all" system, commonly called a "belly pump", and it DOES NOT provide live-power hydraulics. The belly pump feeds hydraulic pressure through three ports, one on the right side of the tractor, two on the left. The right side port and the front left port are on the same circuit, the rear port on the left side is a DELAYED circuit, designed to provide lift for the rear cultivator gang so it lifts at the end of the row automatically. You can use either front port, or the rear port to raise your disk, but these ports do NOT provide two-way pressure. There is a way to get two-way pressure from this system, but it isn't pretty. Some of these tractors came with (or received later) a two-way valve which mounted on the filler pipe of the pump. Pressure (usually from the right port) is plumbed to this valve, and the lever for the pump is locked into the "ON" position. Oil is fed to the valve whenever the tractor is running and the clutch is not depressed. From this valve, two hoses are run to the two-way cylinder. In this setup, one lever controlls on-off for the pump, and the other controls cylinder direction.
