Agree with others that said basically all red but the radiator. From what I understand, even the wiring and radiator hoses were originally painted - everything was sprayed all at once.
Since yours is a 48 and you're trying to keep it original - be sure you get the right decals for it.
For 48 and part of 49 the hood decal should say "McCormick Deering / Farmall" with the IH logo. Later models were the same, but dropped the Deering.
Earlier (A's) decals had the Deering, but not the IH logo.
I did a lot of searching and could not find the proper decals anywhere. Finally tried Maple Hunter. They do have them, but they're vinyl, not the original mylar.
I decided I'd rather have them say the right thing than be the right type of decal, so I went with them. Use great care in applying them! Peeling the backer paper off was a lot more difficult than I expected - and I can tell you the decals do tear easily. But once they're on, they seem pretty permanent.
You also need the special super A round decal - but again Maple Hunter has a whole set for the 48.
