Jim, you were correct and the first to answer. The sleeve in mine looks nothing like that. The previous owner apparently lost it or broke it (how I don't know), and put in another sleeve, or sawed off the other if it was broken, and another seat of less diameter in addition to the original seat along with a seat for the spring to keep the ball from going through the spring. It apparently worked. Kind of hard to figure it out when the parts are in complete disagreement with the parts book. The guy was either a genius or crazy, but more likely a farmer with enough sense to make it work, as many do.
