I have an Oliver 1600 industrial loader with a similar transmission.
It has a 6 speed manual shift gearbox with no reverse gear positions. In place of a foot clutch it has a Funk "Reverse-O-Tork" reverser - essentially a torque converter with single a speed forward and reverse.
A pair of pedals on the right foot selects forward or reverse - depressing either pedal farther increases the throttle. The brake pedals on the left.
Properly adjusted the system works quite well. But there's a lot of linkages that can wear and get out of adjustment.
It's great for shuttle tasks like moving snow. You must however select the right gear for the work to be done. Choosing too high a gear will usually still get the job done but will quickly overheat the reverser.
