Just checked my service manual and one item of interest is that early models (before serial number 39022) didn't have a special oiler gear in the transmission which is necessary if installing the PTO and Belt Pulley. It provides extra lubrication for the transmission when the tractor is stationary providing auxillary power. It can be retrofitted by replacing several existing parts and installing several new parts. For further information, consult the "IH Service Manual for Farmall A, AV, B, BN, and International A Tractors and U-2 Power Unit".
