I got a new crown wheel from Joes Farmall Parts. Not cheap, but nowhere near $1000. If you are going to fix the problem, you need to replace the sleeves in the bolster as well. Also change the oil seals while the steering is dismantled. Letting one tyre down is, I believe, not a good solution. Neither is it safe if you intend to drive the tractor in 5th gear. There are two things on machinery and motor cars I never compromise on:
1). Brakes
2). Steering
