I have a #16 mounted on my 1942 H. It is an ok mower, the problem I have found is that the back of it is so close to the ground that it will drag if the ground is uneven enough. Another thing is that when the bar is vertical in transport position, the bottom end is even closer to the ground and you have to be very careful to keep it from dragging or catching on something. I know you can get new pitman arms, I put a new one on mine, I don't remember where I got it though. Check with your local farm & home store, they just might have on on the shelve.
