Trouble shooting 101 The moment it stops check spark. It needs to be a blue/white spark that will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more. If it does not have spark hot wire it as in run a wire from the ignition side of the battery to the coil I am guessing it has a distributor. Then check for spark if still no spark probably a bad condenser. If you have good spark check for gas flow by pulling the drain plug out of the bottom of the carb and let it flow for a few minutes. Catch it so you can look at it for dirt/rust/water. No flow then work back to find where you loose it
