Brad, I bought a used MD back in about 1966. A couple of years later, after a very cold winter (over 25 below), I had anti-freeze in a cylinder when I started it up in spring. Ever since then I drain the block before winter and re-fill it in spring. Been doing this for 40+ years and never had a leak since. I probably put over 2,000 hrs on it over the last 45 years. Don't use it much any more but it still runs as nice as it did in 1966. Meter shows about 7,500 hrs, and as far I know, it has never had the head off. But I never pulled it when cold or shut it down when hot. I suspect the gasket or head contracts when 25 below to allow some anti-freeze to leak. But if yours leaked in warm weather, probably not your prblem. Al
