The Case I used belonged to one of my uncles, who loaned it to another uncle whom I helped by disking and dragging back when I was in high school. It had a head gasket leak, so it would spew enough water that we had to refill it twice per hour or so. It also had a little dirt in the carb, so it would stall every now and then. There was no battery, so I had to start it with the crank -- which was just about as big as I was, and seemed almost as heavy.
My current main tractor -- a 350 Utility -- would also stall occasionally, so I lined the gas tank last week and am now painting it before reinstallation. Happily, the starter has eliminated the "giant crank" problem.
The IH is undoubtedly nicer with power steering, fast hitch, electric start, T.A., and loader, but the Case always did what I asked of it too. So I can't really bash either one.
