The Heisler 9 speed shift lever is mounted on the left front of the transmission cover near the clutch pedal with linkage running forward and entering the transmission case on the left side of the tractor. I have never seen one but have heard the later version of the M&W 9 speed had a shift lever in lieu of the earlier shifter cable which looks like a lawnmower throttle cable with a big knob on the end.
